Will I ever be good at this?

So again we had to do two more 8x10 watercolors. I felt like this time I wasn't real motivated and had a hard time figuring out what to create. For the landscape I just made up a scene and the portrait was created free hand. I am trying to branch away from relying on always tracing a photograph first.I have three good trees! I guess that's a start? If I could cut out the three trees at the top of the hill and some sky it would be beautiful...maybe! I am trying to continue working on portraits. I thought it would be a change to try something just at a grayscale. I like color better!
